1. Come Early
First Monday runs every Thursday through Sunday proceeding the first Monday of each month. There are many perks to shopping First Monday, Canton early in the weekend and early in the morning. Come out on Thrifty Thursday for smaller crowds, better parking, first dibs, and shorter lines. Also, beat the Texas heat by coming first thing in the morning!
2. Dress Appropriately
Be prepared to walk! First Monday spans across 450 acres, so you'd better wear your walking shoes! It's East Texas and the weather can be unpredictable, keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly!
3. It's HUGE
We are NOT your average Flea Market. With thousands of vendors and over 400 acres, it's easy to see why they call us the World's Largest Flea Market! First Monday, Canton grounds are equivalent to over 400 Football Fields!!
4. Cash Is King
While there are ATM's located at several places on the grounds, cash is still king. Some vendors accept credit and debit cards and some are cash only. It's a great idea to bring cash with you, you wouldn't want to miss out on the perfect find because all you've got is plastic!
5. Make it a Weekend
Ask any Canton veteran and they'll tell you you need multiple days to shop First Monday, Canton! Pick a different section to explore each day to get the full First Monday experience and when you're ready to call it a night, head downtown and eat at one of our awesome restaurants, stay at one of our local B&Bs, or rent an RV space on site to maximize your shopping time!
6. Park with Ease
Minimize the amount of walking you do by parking at our West Gate Entrance. A $5 Parking Fee will get you easy access, shorter lines, and a shuttle that drops you off right at the entrance!
7. Rain or Shine
First Monday, Canton is open rain or shine with over 700,000 sq. ft. of covered shopping! That means you can shop 'til you drop regardless of the weather!
8. A Family Affair
First Monday is enjoyed by every member of the family, including kids and husbands! You're sure to find something for every person in your crew at the World's Largest Flea Market!
9. Know Where to Go
Searching for a true flea market treasure hunt? Visit the Famous Outdoor Fields or Antique Alley! Then check out the Civic Center for antiques and vintage finds, hit Row 46 for new and seasonal home decor and clothing, or visit the Trade Centers for something different at every booth! Canton, TX might be most known for its monthly Flea Market, but that's not all we have to offer! Downtown Canton is home to some of the best local shops and restaurants around. Jump start your morning with a coffee from The Pony Expresso then head to First Monday and shop up an appetite!
