5 things to bring to first Monday This summer

Updated: Jun 7, 2022

We all know Texas can be hot in the summer but that does not have to stop you from visiting First Monday Trade Days! Here are five things we recommend all shoppers bring when they visit us this summer: sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a refillable water bottle and a portable fan!

Sunscreen:

First Monday grounds cover over 450 acres, over half of those acres are outdoors! Although several vendors are set up underneath tents and shaded areas, make sure to protect yourself from the Texas sun and check out our covered shopping areas to give yourself a break from the heat!

Hat:

Having something to protect your face and head when exploring the grounds is essential for the perfect day of shopping! Bring your favorite baseball cap, bucket hat, fedora ... Who knows maybe you will find another when shopping at First Monday!

Water Bottle:

There are water fountains around the flea market to fill up as you shop. There are also many food vendors sprinkled around First Monday that sell water as well. No need to walk far to find water and other snacks to keep you hydrated and energized.

Sunglasses:

Although we have hundreds of covered shopping areas, we recommend bringing sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. If you forget your sunglasses, no worries, our vendors have you covered! Sit back and relax with your shades on as you enjoy our live music and craft beer at one of our rest areas located near dry creek landing and antique alley for live music and cold craft beer.

Portable Fan:

These are great for anyone that likes a breeze, especially kids. We recommend these hand-free devices so shoppers are able to browse while staying cool.

These tips will help you hack the Texas heat and enjoy your day no matter the weather! Don't forget we're open rain or shine, so come on out every Thursday through Sunday preceding the First Monday of EVERY single month, y'all!
